New friends

The girls were so excited knowing that they’ll be visiting one of Umi’s friend’s that night, what’s more knowing that the friend also has two lovely daughters their age. They just cant wait to meet their new friends, so Umi suggest both to make a ‘Nice Meeting You’ card each to bring over. They love the ideas so much that they even start discussing on how to decorate the cards among themselves. At least this would keep them occupied for the whole day until the trip.

We reached Adila and Adlin house around 8:00pm, and were stunned with how big their living room was! After less than 5 mnts, the kids already got acquainted with each other and they played like they were all time best friends haha..Dila and Adlin youngest brothet, Zahir was so glad to meet Ayman again, his partner in crime during Hajj trip couple of months ago.

Few weeks after the visit, we were invited for their housewarming party. This time the girls came up with their own suggestion to bring cards for adlin n adila..hmm umi just feel glad that they've learn the beauty of giving to others :)

Fun in the park

One fine Friday morning, with some fried rice, keropok and a jug of hot milo we dashed to Riyadh Zoo, hoping that it is opened haha.. (as usual, our last minutes planning). As expected, they were closed for renovation. Well, at least we get to enjoy the Friday morning breeze ride with no traffic jam, and it was really great! Not until ayah mentioning about his growling stomach that made us decided to go to our favorite park just behind Euromache. We called it ‘the royal park’ as it is surrounded by these huge and luxury Arabs houses or I would rather called Palace.

It always make me wonder what it would be look like inside these magnificient residents. Hmm...maybe I should start finding friends among the Arabs so that they can invite me to their palace and then I’ll know what its look like inside huh J Reached there around 10:30am, we just love it when there’s not many people in the park. We can choose our favorite place to settle, normally nearby the swings and slide. The girls as usual went straight to the swings while ayah start unpacking the fried rice with keropok. Umi’s fried rice never been so tasty as we ate it in the park whilst the morning breeze gust to the face...hmmm..

Mid-term School Break (1st – 15th feb 08)

Kakak had her last exam paper on that Sunday, and Monday was the starting of a 2weeks school break. Umi had come up with some idea on how to occupy the girls time during this 2wks break, a project called ‘Scrapbooking for Ayah’s birthday present’. The girls are soo excited to start with the project and surprisingly, umi feels the same way too! :)

We only went outing on Thursday night of the first week, shopping for groceries at Geant Khurais. It has been quite some time that we haven’t been to Geant, the last trip was like few months back. Had our dinner at food court before heading to the theme park. As kakak just finished her mid-term exam, as a token for her ayah let both kakak and adik chose one ride to enjoy. Just for the record, they do not often get the chance to spend time on themepark as we think its just a waste of money. It wud be much better if the money is spend on books or art&crafts items…at least they can be more creative with it. Still, once a while wud do no harm to let them enjoy the rides..wudnt it? As it turn out, both of them decided to ride the ‘Screw Ride'. Unfortunately, adik was so scared that she cried with her eyes closed all the time!! Even kakak had that frightened look ……exciting feeling gone in a wooosh! J Done with the so called entertainment, we strolled into the Hypermarket to get the groceries. Reached home around 11pm and everybody was so tired that within minutes all ZZzzZz…………..

Since we did not get the chance to shop for art accessories last Thursday night, ayah promised to take us after Friday prayer. Yupp, it sure exciting when ayah gave us the green light to shop for art&craft stuff! We went to Riyalin shoppe (some sort like Kedai RM2) and bought some water colours, colour paper, some glitters, ribbons, wrapping papers and lots and lots of glue!! Since umi insist to check if there is any sale at Jarir Bookstore (the largest bookstores in Riyadh), ayah being as sporting as usual, took us there. Luck was not on our side as we left Jarir 15mins later empty handed. Next stop was to Malaz restaurant, to tapau Umi’s favorite ‘Prawn fried Rice and ayah’s ‘Crab Massala’ for dinner. Poor ayah as it turn out that his fav dish is not available that night, so ayah will just enjoy umi’s chicken sambal (leftover from lunch). Before we drove home and end our outing, our last mission was to collect a new PC for kakak and adik’s room!! Yupp, we decided to gave the girls their own PC as we feel that kakak has started to enjoy having her own things in her room. Hmm…umi’s lil girl had grown up ..sigh! Time just fly when u really enjoying it, isn’t it? As for the rest of their mid-term break, the girls are sure enjoying themselves with the water colour painting and glitters craft.

Better late than never

I've been trying to find some time to start with this blog thingy for quite some time right now, yet never got it materialised. Yday, after finished helping kakak with her science project, it just strucked me that i've just got to write this down!!Never want to forget the look in her eyes, gleaming with excitement and those big grinnn...She was so thrilled to bring the model of 'bones and muscle' to school and show-off to her friends. She even ask for my help to put it at the safest place possible so that her lil sisters wont ruin it haha...talking about stingy sister. Oh, by the way, just to make sure i'll remember how we made it, i'll list down the things needed; used tissue roll cut into 2, a rubber band, a balloon, and masking tape. Guess i need to make our digicam handy so that we can take a shot of it, well next time maybe. As for today, i've promised myself that i'm not going to let those special moments in my life flies without i'm remembering it even a lil bit. May there will be more happy moments coming up...insyaAllah.

p/s: the pic is just to remind me how glad she was ;)
